"Little Snacks for Little Mouths" Makes a Big ImpactPosted by: marymrichman on Jul 30, 2010 |

I came across a great story this week about a school that has created an ongoing food drive that focuses on providing healthy snacks for less-fortunate kids in the community.
Rosa International Middle School in Cherry Hill, New Jersey has a Do Something Club. Twice a month, the students work on a project called “Little Snacks for Little Mouths.” They decorate brown lunch bags with positive messages and fill the bags with healthy juice, pretzels, and rice crispy treats. 100 “goody bags” are then delivered to the Cathedral Kitchen in Camden, NJ.
The Do Something Club members started this project because they realized that there are many kids in neighboring communities that don’t eat healthy snacks when they get home from school.
What a neat idea! A great twist on a traditional school food drive and a fun ongoing service project for the students.
