Good Giving: What Gives?Posted by: marymrichman on Jul 16, 2010 |

We talk a lot about Good Giving at Schools Serve. The concept is: Giving is good, Good Giving is better. We believe that with this thinking, we all can make our school food drives and service efforts even better.
How do you practice Good Giving you ask?
1. Find out what is really needed. All food donations are good, but donating the kind of food that pantries need the most is better.
2. Consider timing. Food drives anytime are good, but food drives timed to fill pantry shelves when pantries are most in need are better.
3. Think outside the food box. All food drives are good, but food drives that combine collecting food with educating and inspiring kids on the value of service are better.
And there you have it. We hope every school will join in Good Giving!
