One Student, 17 Schools, Over 13,000 Pounds!

Recently, Nicole Muller, a senior at Western Albemarle High School (and wonderful SFH Student Leader), organized a local school food drive competition in Virginia. In total, 17 schools participated in a two-week long food drive during March. At the end of the competition the elementary, middle and high school that brought in the most pounds per student were awarded a digital camera as a thank you for their amazing work.

A Matter of Principal

We've heard loads of great ways to make your food drive successful but one that we hear time and time again: make razzing the principal the prize!

Here's just a few fun ideas we've seen at schools.

Cut the Tie
Set a goal and for every 25 items of food donated a classroom gets to cut off an inch from the principal's tie. The principal has to wear around his butchered tie during the competition.
